“Avengers: Endgame” broke the box office recording shattering previous achievements to open globally at $1.2 billion. Just 5 days after it was aired in the cinemas, the long expecting thriller posted a very strong record worldwide.
The “Avengers Infinity War” previously set a record at $641 million the previous year, however, the Endgame dusted that record with very huge margin for the highest grossing weekend release which had never happened before.
Infinity War held the record last for a cumulative of 11 days. In United States alone, the Endgame raked in a total of $350 million in its opening weekend exceeding expectations as it came pulling very strong audience. Infinity war held its ground at $257 million just below the Endgame.
Disney said it expected the Endgame to open at roughly $330 million after its strong opening. Industry predictions put the Endgame’s opening gross at roughly $275 million; however, industry analysts have revised their estimates to exceed Disney’s predictions putting figures to closely $360 million by Monday.
Globally, the Endgame has brought in a cumulative of $859 million shattering the biggest opening weekend intake for any film released worldwide in the history of the cinema. “The Fate of the Furious”, the film that held the last record earned $443 million in its opening weekend in 2017.
